I’m David Fletcher, the owner of Washington’s Best Musicians. i have been providing experienced, talented, and friendly musicians for weddings for decades, and I can’t wait to start this journey with you.

When it comes to planning your wedding, no detail should be overlooked. From venue choice to music selection, every aspect of your wedding should intertwine perfectly. At Washington’s Best, we work to make sure that our selections complement your special day. I’ll give you straight-up information, even if it means you might end up not using us.  I guarantee that you will have my 100% attention, from the first phone call to the last dance.

My philosophy – one that I have maintained my entire life – is to treat my clients the same way I want to be treated as a client.

During the 2020 pandemic, I have returned every deposit for events that were cancelled, and rescheduled dates whenever requested, without asking for additional payment. We are all in this together.

In my prior life, I taught music at all levels (intermediate school, high school and college). I was the Director of Bands and Choruses at Georgetown University. For the past two decades, I have been presenting music at weddings and other private events, as well as work as a music director for theater productions in New York. My background carries with it a wealth of music experience and information that I bring to each client for their unique and special event.

My first piece of advice: find an advisor you can rely on. The way to find one is to have conversations and see where it goes.

Let’s talk! You can fill out a Zoom meeting request using the contact form on this page. If you are “over-zoomed”, please feel free to call us anytime at 917-566-3779.

 Step Two: Your Wedding Ceremony

MOST IMPORTANTLY -  IT’S YOUR CEREMONY.  THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG,  THERE IS ONLY WHAT BEST EXPRESSES YOUR UNIQUE PERSONALITIES.  At washington’s best, WE CAN HELP YOU MAKE THE BEST CHOICE FOR MUSICIANS, AND MUSIC.  BELOW ARE TWO EXAMPLES OF SOLO PERFORMERS – A CLASSICAL GUITARIST OR A HARPIST.  YOU CAN CONSIDER LARGER GROUPS, STRING TRIOS OR QUARTETS,  MORE UNIQUE GROUPS – SECOND LINE MARCHING BAND, OR INTERESTING PRE RECORDED TRACKS, OR WAYS YOU CAN GET YOUR FRIENDS TO PERFORM.

Step Three: Your Rehearsal Dinner or Reception Hour

Some good options – a lively jazz trio or quartet, with a stunning jazz vocalist, or interesting ethnic or folk music, blue grass, Peruvian pan flutes, bagpipers, Celtic bands.  There is no limit, and it’s only an hour so you can take some chances.  Here are a few of our favorite jazz artists.

Step Four: The Dance Floor

Band or DJ? Small band or big band? What will motivate your guests to leave their tables and crowd the dance floor?

We are biased towards live music for obvious (and selfish) Reasons. Below are a few of our top dance bands.  With trusted band leaders to keep your wedding on schedule, respond to your requests, and motivate the dance floor - you will have the time of your life.
